Man In Critical Condition Following Massive Rescue At Sydney’s Northern Beaches

A man is still fighting for life following a major water rescue at Sydney’s northern beaches on Sunday afternoon. 

Police were alerted at around 4:50PM to five swimmers struggling to get back to shore after being swept out to sea by a rip at North Curl Curl on Sunday.

A major rescue mission was established including police, lifesavers, the Channel Nine helicopter and paramedics. 

Upon arriving at the scene, two men and a woman had made it back to shore while one person was rescued by boat and another by helicopter.

The 21-year-old man rescued by boat was transported to Northern Beaches Hospital in stable condition. 

The 22-year-old man rescued by helicopter was found unresponsive and was given CPR by rescue teams before being transported to North Shore Hospital in critical condition.
