A 37-year-old Perth man has been charged with murder after a woman was allegedly killed in a domestic violence incident in Perth.
Tiffany Woodley was found dead inside her home on Birkett Street, Bedford, after emergency services were called on-site at around 5pm yesterday.
Police said the 35-year-old experienced “horrific injuries” and was beaten to death.
Ms Woodley’s ex-partner was arrested at the scene and was charged with murder overnight.
WA police Inspector Geoff Desanges said the 37-year-old was believed to live there “off and on” over a period of time.
“A woman lost her life last night to extreme violence,” he told a press conference on Tuesday.
Ms Woodley’s aunt, Rosalie Pickett, told ABC that everyone loved her for who she was.
“She loved her children, everyone’s children. She made a fuss over everyone.”
Inspector Desanges said WA police had no tolerance for domestic violence.
“Violence of any nature, especially against women, children or other vulnerable victims is unacceptable,” he said.
“Family and domestic violence is a scourge in our community. This violence must stop; everyone has a right to feel safe, especially in their home,” he added.
“If you call WA Police, we will come. We will make the situation safe. Victim safety is our priority.”
