Abandoned Car Hotspots Across SEQ Revealed

A Brisbane driver has been told to return their vehicle after leaving it parked in a shopping centre for four years. 

The car, parked at the Uptown (formerly the Myer Centre car park) in Queen Street Mall, has accumulated over $75,000 in parking fines.

This morning on Triple M Breakfast with Marto, Margaux, and Dan, it was revealed that there are other hotspots in Brisbane and the Gold Coast where people are leaving their unwanted cars.

“Back in the 90s (I deliberately left) my two door Cortina, gifted by my dad carked it, I didn’t know what to do with it,” Triple M Listener John told Triple M Breakfast with Marto, Margaux and Dan.

“So I took it down to the Broadwater Carpark and left it there. I left it there for three weeks before going back to get it.”
