Zerina Akers is an Emmy Award winning costume designer and founder of Black Owned Everything; a marketplace providing space for Black designers and artists to be recognised. She is also happens to be Beyonce’s personal stylist.
So how does one actually go from interning at a fashion magazine to working with the Queen herself?
Well, this week, Zerina joined Sliding Doors with Elle Ferguson to share how she climbed her way from working in retail fitting rooms to landing Beyoncé as her first client!
“Just start. If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl – you have to start the forward movement and motion.”
