Cairns Police Issue Urgent Appeal For Missing Brother And Sister

Cairns police have launched an urgent appeal for public assistance in locating a brother and sister.

The siblings, aged 17 and 16, have been reported missing from Smithfield, located on the north side of Cairns in Far North Queensland.

They were last seen on Landsborough Drive in a taxi around 9:45am on Monday. 

Police and family members have raised severe concerns for their welfare due to multiple medical conditions.

The 17-year-old boy is described as approximately 160cm tall with black hair and brown eyes. 

He was last seen wearing a black shirt. His younger sister, who is around 158cm tall, has brown hair and blue eyes.

She was last seen wearing a black, oversized shirt with green on the front and black shorts.

Based on information gathered during their investigation, authorities have reason to believe that the pair may be heading towards Mackay or South Australia.

Police urge anyone with information about the siblings’ whereabouts or the circumstances of their disappearance to come forward immediately.
