In this exclusive chat, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan sits down with Triple M‘s Brendan Annakin to preview the band’s ‘The World Is a Vampire’ Festival hitting Aussie shores in April.
Billy also reveals the story behind The Smashing Pumpkin’s 1993 hit ‘Today’ being about self ownership, and accepting who you really are.
“I was a truly strange person in a genre that was about to be called ‘alternative’. They’re still making fun of me. I’m 55 years old and I’ve got two little kids, and I run a wrestling company called the NWA but somehow I’m still a weirdo.”
Billy Corgan, on being himself in face of hateful comments.
The boys take an in depth look at the Pumpkins’ new three-part rock opera ATUM; discuss the new found harmony within the band and you’ll discover why some of the band’s catalogue has disappeared.
