Rose Byrne is one of several Aussies nominated this year, along with Jacob Elordi, Nick Cave, Guido Wolter, and Fiona Crombie.

Winners

The first award was Best Supporting Actress which went to Amy Madigan, for Weapons…setting a record the longest gap between nominations before a win. Amy was nominated in the same category in 1986 for Twice in a Lifetime.

KPop Demon Hunters took home the award for Best Animated Feature.

Frankenstein took home the awards for Costume and Hair and Make-Up, which were presented by Anne Hathaway and Anna Wintour.

Cassandra Kulukundis became the inaugural winner of the brand-new Best Casting category, for One Battle After Another.

The award for Best Live Action Short Film was a tie! The Singers and Two People Exchanging Saliva both took home the win.

Best Actor in a Supporting Role went to Sean Penn, who beat our Aussie hopeful Jacob Elordi.

Sinners also created history when Autumn Durald Arkapaw won for Best Cinematography, the first woman to win the award in 98 years of the Oscars.

Avatar: Fire and Ash won Best Visual Effects, F1 won Best Sound.

Sentimental Value won Best International Feature Film and David Borenstein’s film… Mr. Nobody Against Putin…took home the Best Documentary Feature Film.

Then for Best Actress, Jessie Buckley took home the win for Hamnet! She made history as the first Irish actress to win in this category.

Michael B Jordan beat out Timothée Chalamet and Leonardo DiCaprio to take home the Best Actor Oscar for Sinners.

After two decades and fourteen nominations, Paul Thomas Anderson got the win he’s always hoped for – One Battle After Another took home the biggest award of the night, Best Picture.
