Children as young as eight are vaping in the playgrounds as teachers are “begging” for help.
The regulations surrounding vaping products will be the subject of a Queensland government inquiry set to begin this week.
It will look at what chemicals are in e-cigarettes, and the associated health risks linked to them.

New research displays that the average age of younger people beginning to vape is between 13 and 15 with the youngest case being just eight years old.
Children are accessing and buying vapes online, in stores and re-selling them to other children in their school’s playground.
“The solution to stemming the flow of product and uptake of use amongst young people requires a regulatory solution,” the Cancer Council’s Anita Dessaix said.
“These products were never, ever meant for children, adolescents or young adults.
“It’s about making sure that the legal pathways that are available to smokers who want to use these products to quit, are firmed up.”
