“I’m a fan of why they’ve picked him (Agar),” SOK said.

“Coming into that team that’s had success, you feel comfortable, you get around the guys who are bigging you up and making you feel a part of the team.

“He probably didn’t bowl as well as he would have liked, but in a game where there was only three or four wickets, or test wickets, that went to spin, I don’t think it was that bad.

“I still think it’s a pass.

“I think he will start in that first test (in India), but there will be a lot of pressure.

For his part, Hads said that he doesn’t have confidence that Agar will make an impact in the India series.

“To me he was bowling too full and if you do that in the subcontinent, they’ll jump over you,” Hads said.

“All of a sudden you won’t be able to shut the scoreboard down.”
