She’s a Real Housewife of Miami, an animal activist, opera singer (if you’ve seen the new season of the show) and is married to iconic tennis legend Martina Navratilova. Julia Lemigova recently caught up with Entertainment Reporter Justin Hill to chat about life, the show and Martina’s cancer battle after recently being diagnosed with throat AND breast cancer.
“She is such a strong person with an amazing heart and yes, she is well… she’s officially cancer free and we decided to take life day by day”.
When it comes to what the couple plans are now that Martina has been given the all clear, Julia reveals, “we are going in a couple of weeks with Captain Sandy (from Below Deck Med) on a little boat tour because we’ve been friends forever. We get a phone call, Julia, Martina, you wanna go somewhere? If I can leave my animals, then ok I’m going”
This season on the Real Housewives of Miami, Julia’s fellow housewife Guerdy Abraira was diagnosed with breast cancer. When Justin spoke to Julia about being there with her friend when she found out and the timing of Martina’s own cancer battle, she said; “Guerdy is such a fighter and the entire group is behind her. However her battle was particularly heightened because my wife Martina just went through fighting two cancers and now with one of my closest friends fighting cancer…Martina was there for her and could share her experience. We let her know right away that we are here for you whatever you need. It’s important to know that you have people who are with you”.
Guerdy has since revealed that she is now cancer free and is celebrating every day with her family and friends.
