Hay Fever: How Our Bodies Protect Us from Our Own Allergies

It’s officially summer which means that allergies will be in full swing for hay fever sufferers over the next few months. 

Unfortunately, this means a whole lot of pesky symptoms including sneezing, blocked noses and itchy eyes. 

While most people assume hay fever causes all of these symptoms, did you know that hay fever is actually a symptom in itself? 

Cosmos journalist Matthew Agius breaks down exactly what hay fever is, why more and more people appear to be picking up new allergies and how our bodies work to protect us from these allergies.
