Joining Xav and Michelle for Breakfast, Sam Hensen-Thompson chats about running a marathon in his thongs on Friday to raise money for the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation, demonstrating his dedication to making a difference for children’s healthcare.
“You just get to the day and all the adrenaline and stuff helps you get through…if not then I’m going to be a cooked chook,” Sam said on Xav and Michelle for Breakfast.
To complete the marathon, Sam handpicked a specific set of thongs to wear.
“The Heatwave’s, you only get them in rural WA’s…they’re the best running thong you can get.”
He then explains the rationale behind his decision to endorse the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation.
“My coach over east…his daughter has leukaemia.”
“I had to do something for the kids…I think I’ve raised almost $12 grand over the last month.”
