West Coast co-captain Liam Duggan has slammed the West Australian’s controversial front page about departing Eagles coach Adam Simpson.
LIAM DUGGAN SLAMS THE WEST AUSTRALIAN’S ADAM SIMPSON FRONT PAGE:
The day after Simpson and the Eagles parted ways midway through the coach’s 11th season, the West Australian ran the front page, which showed the club’s last 65 results in a grid of wins and losses expressed as Ls and Ws.
“He’s copped it, no doubt about that, and probably unfairly at times,” Duggan said of the media coverage of Simpson on Xav & Michelle for Breakfast.
“I think because of who Simmo is he’s worn a lot of and been happy to wear a lot of it for us as well.”

Duggan said that the West Australian’s timing was upsetting.
“It’s disappointing that on the final day, and a time of celebration probably for all he’s done for our footy club and the state, that was the way that particular… outlet decided to celebrate that way,” Duggan said.
“He’s been copping it for three years,” the Eagles skipper added.
“He had some good times there where he got to enjoy it as well, but the last three years I think he’s been quite unfairly treated.”
