All-Australian ruck Max Gawn has backed incoming Lions ruck Darcy Fort to curb the dominance of Sydney’s Brodie Grundy in the premiership decider.
“If there was a team to lose their number one ruck going into a Grand Final, Brisbane would be the one…” Max Gawn told Triple M Breakfast with Rosie, Wil & Daisy.
The 31-year-old Fort played just two games this season, but is set to be called upon after Oscar McInerney dislocated his shoulder in Brisbane’s preliminary final win over Geelong.
Gawn believes the ruck duel between Fort and his former teammate will go a long way to deciding the match.
“Brodie [Grundy] is not someone who will be able to walk through this game, he’s got a pretty tough opponent.”
