“We’re Sending Too Many Kids To Uni” Marto Calls For Workers In “Dead-End” Jobs To Take Up An Apprenticeship

Australia’s construction industry is facing a major shortage of skilled tradesmen, and Greg ‘Marto’ Martin from Triple M Breakfast with Marto, Margaux and Dan says university grads in “dead-end” jobs should ditch their degrees and consider a career in construction. 

Having become a qualified carpenter at 30, Marto believes too many young people are stuck on the “silly treadmill” earning 60-80k a year as a graduate, urging them to switch paths and pursue an apprenticeship instead:
