Why PM Anthony Albanese Wore Rabbitohs Gear To King’s Coronation

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s choice of attire has caused a stir following King Charles’ Coronation over the weekend.

The Prime Minister was snapped wearing a pair of South Sydney Rabbitohs socks at the event.

A South Sydney tragic, Albanese, donned the socks as not only a nod to his favourite NRL side, but to also honour a commitment that he made to Triple M Breakfast with Marto, Margaux and Dan while on the show last week.

When informed by host, Greg “Marto” Martin that every major event always features a “random Souths guy,” Mr Albanese promised Triple M that he would fly the flag for his beloved Rabbitohs at the King’s Coronation.

“Wouldn’t that be a great look, me being the ‘Random Souths Guy.’ It would be a great way to end my career,” Mr Albanese said.

“I’ll give your Random Souths Guy some thought, I might wear my stuff around the Coronation. I might wear some Bunnies socks. I can get away with that.”

After pictures of Mr Albanese in his South Sydney Rabbitohs socks appeared online on Sunday morning, it was confirmed that the wardrobe choice was made to honour a commitment that the Prime Minister made to Triple M Breakfast with Marto, Margaux and Dan.
