He’s the off-contract Broncos star who is in line to be the highest paid player in Red Hill history.
The Broncos front-rower is also expected to attract offers from Australian Rugby Union, but Triple M Breakfast with Marto, Margaux and Dan host, Greg “Marto”, reckons if Haas stays in the NRL he could be worth $3 million a season.
“(Payne Haas) is the only time a person who’s value who has gone up when he hasn’t played.” Martin said.
“It was quite obvious when the Rabbitohs ran all over the Broncos, they needed the big Buffalo Head.
“You know how they’re trying to get rid of the hip drop? The only way they’re going to get rid of that is by getting rid of the three-man tackle.
“Payne Haas, if they only let two man tackle him – he’s worth $3 million a year. He’ll score 12 tries a game. No one will be able to tackle him.”
