Nicho Hynes may have ruled himself out of replacing injured Nathan Cleary in Origin Game Two, due to his disappointing performance in Cronulla Sharks’ game against the Melbourne Storm Sunday afternoon.
The Sharks suffered an embarrassing 54-10 loss against Melbourne Storm, with Storm’s (and Queensland players) Cameron Munster and Harry Grant continuously outrunning Hynes on field.
Marto from Triple M Breakfast with Marto, Margaux and Dan has said he’s disappointed as he believes Hynes’ performance has ruled him out of the Origin running.
LISTEN NOW:
“He failed when the pressure came on him. What’s Origin all about? Pressure.
“That’s where (Adam) Reynolds might get a run” said Marto.
Marto believes Hynes’ performance will mean Broncos’ halfback Adam Reynolds will get to represent the Blues in Origin for the first time in seven years.
Reynolds recently told The Rush Hour with Leisel Jones, Liam & Dobbo that he’s happy to put his hand up for the spot.
“I think every player aspires to play Origin. Obviously having a taste of it a number of years ago and sitting by watching all the series going past, you always want to be back in that arena.
“I’ve been mentioned in that before and didn’t get the nod. So not getting carried away or anything, just keep my head down, work hard mate and if I get that call I’d be over the moon.” said Reynolds.
