Greg ‘Marto’ Martin from Triple M Breakfast from Marto, Margaux and Dan has called for Bunnings and cafes to stop allowing dogs, saying it’s getting out of hand – the dogs don’t want to be there.
Whilst visiting Newstead Bunnings yesterday, he noted 12 dogs during his trip.
“I love dogs, but there’s a disturbing trend,” Marto said.
“I saw a trolley yesterday (in Bunnings) with three dogs in it… You don’t need to take your dog to a hardware store. The dog can’t help you with your screws, it can’t help you with your timber or any plumbing fittings.”

“Dogs don’t need or want to go. There’s not a dog that needs to go to a café.” Marto said.
Triple M Breakfast host Margaux Parker argued that many dogs experience anxiety and can’t be left at home, while others are companion animals that help their owners manage anxiety.
“Dogs need love too” Margaux argued.
