Don Walker of Cold Chisel has spoken of his love of performing at legendary venue Cloudland in Brisbane. Walker told Triple M’s Marto, Margaux & Dan that it “was huge” and when packed, the floor felt “like a trampoline!”
Peter Garrett of Midnight Oil recently told Triple M that the best gig he ever went to was to see Cold Chisel at Cloudland in Brisbane and Walker remembers it well.
“It was huge!”
The sprung floors meant that when everyone was packed in, it “was like a trampoline!”
“I saw The Angels in there and everyone was going up and down!” Walker laughed.

The historic anniversary party kicks off on Saturday October 5, in Armidale, the band’s base in 1974-1975. It will then travel through major Australian cities for seven weeks. Finally concluding on November 17 in Adelaide, the city where the band was formed.
Chisel will hit Queensland twice, firstly at Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, Broadbeach on Tuesday 8 October. Then in Brissy itself on Saturday 2 November at Victoria Park, Herston.
This show will be staged under a specially constructed, 10,000 capacity Big Top tent, featuring floor and bleacher seating, as well as a GA standing area. The setup is a nod to the band’s legendary ‘An Evening with the Circus Animals’ shows in 1982.
