Triple M’s own Brent Read explained why South Sydney Rabbitohs were able to pull off the expected coup signing of Canberra Raiders superstar Jack Wighton.

Ready joined The Rush Hour with Gus, Jude & Wendell featuring Elliot Lovejoy to discuss.

‘He obviously has a great relationship with Latrell Mitchell and Cody Walker,’ said Read.

‘For first graders, they [would] get $1500-$2000 a game.

‘One of the clubs that was a driving force behind that was the Roosters.

‘Now that’s happened, Souths have a bit more money to play with.

‘They probably have their arch rivals to thank if they land [him].’
