Andrew Embley revealed he almost left the Eagles for Port Adelaide for the start of the 2003 AFL Season via Rush Hour with Embers and Katie.
“At the end of 2002, I was at the crossroads…there was a lot of speculation that West Coast were going to get rid of me,” Embers said via Rush Hour with Embers and Katie.
“My manager told me that Port Adelaide, in particular, were really going hard to get me to Port.”
The same Christmas Port won the Grand Final, Embers ran into Port Adelaide coach Choco [Mark] Williams who said,
“Embers you’ve got no idea how hard we tried to get you to Port, and if you had of come, guess what, you would be a Premiership player by now.”
