Melbourne captain Max Gawn discussed the now infamous post-King’s Birthday game altercation between Christian Petracca and Mason Cox on the Marty Sheargold Show this morning.
“There was a bit of biff, they both weren’t happy with each other,” Gawn said.
He admitted he hasn’t followed it up with Petracca since the match, however.
“I haven’t had the conversation,” he said.
“Petracca went to Noosa before the end of the game almost!”
Petracca and Cox shared words immediately after the final siren on Monday, with Gawn and Collingwood defender Brayden Maynard having to play peacemaking roles.
Melbourne inflicted a second loss of the season on Collingwood, fighting off a late Pies surge to emerge four point victors in a high intensity match amidst the backdrop of the traditional Big Freeze slide.
Gawn also discussed the Dees’ mid-season bye, being sprung by a Blairgowrie walking tour near his holiday house, and a preview of round 14.
