Peter Daicos Launches Scathing Criticism Of The AFL’s Umpiring Standards

Pies great Peter Daicos has lamented the current standard of umpiring, drawing reference to the physical attention put into Nick Daicos against Hawthorn last Saturday afternoon.

LISTEN HERE:

Daicos is set to miss the next six weeks with a hairline fracture in his knee after a collision with James Blanck which didn’t draw a free kick from the umpires.

“I wasn’t happy about the incident to be quite honest…he was clearly in it to run into him,” Peter said on the Friday Huddle.

“He hasn’t been looked after at times, he gets a hell of a lot of attention.

“The four umpire rule is the worst thing we’ve ever introduced into the game.

“Nick had marked it, took two strides and the guy hit him… that should have been a 50 down the field.”
