After looking to get a decent pay-rise from Jeff Browne at Channel Nine, JB came out with the same money… and increased duties!
“Browny just handed me the bit of paper and said.. ‘You’re not getting any more and by the way, you’re also doing the Sunday Footy Show.'”
Unfortunately for JB, he didn’t realise the current host had absolutely no idea of the plan.
“The problem was, the Chompers was the host and no one had told him.”
“So suddenly Chompers thought I back-doored him… didn’t speak to me for a good five years.”
“It only stopped when we went to Vancouver to do the Winter Olympics.”
“I walk through and in 21A next to 21C was the Chompers, first time in five years.”
“I said ‘Alright Tone, we probably need to get this sorted out!'”
