On The Rush Hour with JB & Billy, Cal Twomey had the latest on Joel Smith’s positive drug test, which was taken from late in the home & away season.
LISTEN HERE:
Cal explained that Smith was named because of the in-season nature of the violation.
“It was a positive test after the game… it’s an in-season test as opposed to an out of season test,” he told JB & Billy.
“It’s being investigated with the Ports Integrity Board of Australia.
“This one could play out over a long period.”
If the violation was found to not be for performance-enhancing within games, Cal added Smith may face a reduced three-month suspension.
“My understanding is [that three month suspension] from the point of notification.”
