Following Adam Simpson’s departure from West Coast, the Midweek Rub has debated the decision in front of Dean Cox, one of the leading candidates at this early juncture.

Damian Barrett has mail that the Swans will allow Cox to pursue the Eagles top job if he so chooses, despite long being touted as the eventual successor to John Longmire at Sydney.
“If Dean Cox wants to put himself through that and go for it, he will do so with the Swans’ blessing. But it will not preempt the Swans to change their plans.”
But Joey Montagna isn’t so sure it’s the best option for the West Coast legend, given the list at the Eagles compared to the other head coaching jobs that may open up over the next few years.
“Do you automatically go for a job that’s available and think ‘this is a great opportunity’, or do you sit back and wait for the right opportunity?”
