Things got fiery on today’s Midweek Rub when Damian Barrett and Leigh Montagna went head to head on on whether or not umpires should be allowed to access stats before doing their Brownlow votes.
DAMO & JOEY ON UMPIRES SEEING STATS BEFORE DOING BROWNLOW VOTES:
“This is Champion Data rubbish,” Damo said.
“You don’t need numbers to tell you who played well!”

“The stats just give you triggers,” Joey retorted.
“We do when we do votes on Triple M, the coaches when they give the coaches votes do it the next day. “Everyone has a look at stats to help trigger them, and its unfair to the umpires that they don’t.”
