Daisy Thomas has given out an apology to fans of his old club Collingwood for a jinx he accidentally put on Nick Daicos on the Midweek Rub.
Daisy answered a Fair Dinkum or Fugazi question about Nick Daicos on the July 12 edition of the Midweek Rub, and said that the only way he could not win the Brownlow is if he had an injury end his season.
“The question is no longer if Nick Daicos wins the Brownlow, it is by how far?,” was the question Rabs asked.
“I don’t wanna even say this… but I’m gonna have to. If he gets an injury now and doesn’t play finals…” was all Daisy could say in response before being shouted down by Damian Barrett and Joey Montagna.
When confronted with the audio, Daisy could only offer his apologies.
“I apologise, not only to Collingwood fans but to Nick Daicos,” he said.
“As a consolation, I’ll give him my Norm Smith Medal… he’ll have to go Pendles’s house to get it, but I will give him that a consolation!”
Daisy also offered another consolation — that could double as a second jinx!
“I’ll put it out there that he’ll happily have a premiership medallion over the Brownlow,” he said.
MORE FROM THE MIDWEEK RUB:
Joey said there was one person who might take some positives from the Daicos knee injury, though.
“You know who is just a little bit happy about it?,” he asked.
“It’s actually Damo, because now his man Bontempelli, the greatest Bulldog of all time, he might get this big Brownlow that you are so desperate for him to get!”
MORE FROM DAISY THOMAS:
Joey, Daisy and Damo also discussed the retirement season and which Richmond veterans could call it, Chad Wingard’s contract situation, Ben Cunnington’s brutal don’t argues and more.
