HUMANITARIAN CRISIS: Gold Coast Suburb To Be Shut Down Indefinitely

You’d never think that in 2023 you’d wake up to no access to water, electricity, and gas. However, at 10am today a Gold Coast suburb Couran Cove on South Stradbroke Island will have all services cut by the state government indefinitely. It’s been a tangled web that’s led to skyrocketing debt of $25 million strata. Undeveloped land has been racking up service fees that are now falling on multiple body corporates.

Flan, Ali and Spida talk to Couran Cove resident Mick who says “we are all pretty concerned” along with 100 residents who are about to lose all services.
