Triple M Gold Coast’s Flan, Ali and Spida chat to Gold Coast local soccer coach Fraser Cuba who has trained Matildas Hayley Russo and Mackenzie Arnold.
Fraser trained Hayley and Mackenzie when they were young and says, “they always showed signs that they could accomplish their dreams and they’re achieving their goals now”.
The two girls were standouts when he trained them all those years ago however Hayley has an incredible story saying “Hayley had to go through a lot more, being diagnosed with she probably wouldn’t walk again. That just takes a lot of heart, a lot of mental strength”.
The Matildas are onto the semi-finals this Wednesday for the first time in FIFA Women’s World Cup history after their victory over France on Saturday night.
Fraser thinks the Tillies can take it out on Wednesday “I see Australia going ahead and hopefully to the world cup final”.
