Round 12 of the 2023 AFL season saw Port Adelaide take on Hawthorn at Adelaide Oval, without Port’s skipper Tom Jonas. Joining Dead Set Legends Adelaide, Jonas reflects on being left out of the team.
“It’s been a challenging 36 hours, but it wasn’t something that was a complete surprise” says Jonas.
“As skipper, I just want to support the boys.”
TJ expresses that he doesn’t pay much attention to the media, and it’s unspoken that the best 22 will play each week.
“No ones safe” explains Jonas.
“The responsibility is on me now to keep leading the best I can and find some better form and stay ready for when my opportunity comes again.”
