No Bull$h!@#! Mark Geyer Reveals the Secret to Smashing Breakfast Radio

Ever wondered what it takes to dominate the airwaves on breakfast radio? Mark Geyer, NRL legend and also co-host of Triple M’s top-rating show Mick and MG in the Morning, has pulled back the curtain on his radio success in a raw and unfiltered chat with Mark Howard on the Howie Games podcast.

His key to breakfast radio? It’s all about being real—because the audience knows when you’re faking it.

“You can’t bullshit them,” Geyer says. “They know if you’re a liar, they know if you’re talking shit, and they don’t suffer fools. Especially our Triple M audience—they’re from the heartland. A lot of them grew up just like I did, west of Parramatta, down at Campbelltown, out to Richmond. That’s why I never hide where I come from.”

Geyer’s relatability is a major part of his success. He admits he’s not always polished—he stumbles on his words under pressure—but that’s what his listeners love.

“They know what I mean even when I mess it up. It’s relatable. They have an Uncle Steve who does the same thing!” he laughed.

In an era where so much content feels overproduced and out of touch, Geyer’s raw authenticity is what sets him apart. His listeners see themselves in him, flaws and all.

“I think that’s why I’ve lasted,” Geyer reflects. “I’m not trying to be anything I’m not.”
