The Sydney Roosters pulled off a major coup after extending the deal of skipper and star fullback James Tedesco until the end of the 2025.
But after also re-signing one of the game’s brightest prospects Joseph Sua’ali’i, the long term plan to move the youngster to fullback could be in jeopardy.

‘He’s the NSW captain, the Australian captain, arguably the best player week in week out,’ said Tallis about James Tedesco.
‘Over the last three-four years, [he’s] been the most consistent footballer.’
But while Tallis dismissed the idea of Sua’ali’i leaving rugby league for union, he believes that actually other teams across NRL will monitor his situation.
‘It opens up the door for other clubs.
‘If he truly wants to play fullback because Tedesco doesn’t want to move,
‘Does Sua’ali’i want to wait another four years to play the position he wants?’
