Wendell Sailor gave his thoughts on reports the Sydney Roosters will do a big roster clear out at season’s end.
The Chooks were considered as a premiership contender at the top of the 2023 campaign but seven wins and seven losses more than halfway through the season, it has been deemed as a failure so far.
According to reports, more than 10 players are on the chopping with rumours circulating around Joseph Sua’ali’i moving to rugby union earlier than 2025.
‘Plenty going on at the Roosters,’ said Dell.
‘Nick Politis and Trent Robinson know what they’re doing.
‘It hasn’t been smooth sailing. Something has to happen and something has to change.’
One player many fans might have sympathy for is halfback Sam Walker.
Injuries and inconsistencies have plagued the young playmaker but the potential of Walker is still evident.
‘Sam Walker was in the Queensland set up in State of Origin last year.
‘I hope he stays and fights it out.
‘But it’s about what’s best for the club.’
