St George Illawarra have reportedly rejected Hunt’s request for a release, leaving the star halfback in limbo having explained his desire to return home to Queensland to finish his career.
Origin legend Gordon Tallis has shared his take on the latest developments and has called on the NRL’s leaders to change the rules so this no longer happens.

“A bit of the old rollercoaster of rugby league and tonight can bring you back down pretty quick.”
Hunt has been linked to the Brisbane Broncos for the remainder of this season, with the Titans reportedly the frontrunner to sign the Queensland Origin hooker from 2024.
