No one is prouder of Matilda’s defender Ellie Carpenter than her dad Scott.
Beaming with pride, he highlights the secrets behind Ellie’s rise to the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
THE SECRETS BEHIND ELLIE:
Taking Australia and the world by storm, the FIFA Women’s World Cup is breaking records for viewership and attendance with last nights match reaching a record breaking 6.54 million people.
At the game, 75,784 supporters packed the stands inside Sydney’s Stadium Australia.
“The atmosphere in the stadium; it’s electrifying,” Scott said.
“It’s making a big difference for the girls.”
But perhaps the most beautiful gesture of the night came when Ellie and her teammates celebrated respectfully and consoled devastated Denmark players.
The Matildas are set to face the winner of tonight’s match against France and Morocco in the Quarter Final.
“It’s just such a buzz at the moment for women in sport and especially the Matildas,” Mr Carpenter said.
