When do the Matildas play next?

We face Denmark on Monday, August 7. Kick-off at Sydney’s Stadium Australia is from 8.30pm Eastern time and 6.30pm over in the West.

What are their chances of winning and how good is the opposition?

Pretty good! Confidence is sky-high in the Matildas camp after a four-nil drubbing of Olympic champions Canada in the final group game. Denmark finished second in their group with with two victories and a defeat, the same win-loss record as Australia. They’re currently ranked thirteenth in the world, three spots below the Aussies.

How can I watch at home?

Channel Seven will broadcast the match live and free, including pre-game coverage. Their 7Plus platform are showing the game too if you can’t get to a TV. The match is also available to Optus Sport subscribers.

How can I get tickets?

Only with lots of luck! The match is officially a sellout with over 70-thousand fans expected to be cheering the girls on. However some tickets have been popping up on FIFA’s resale site. If you can’t get to the game or don’t feel like watching at home, there’s fan live sites all over the country. You can find the closest to you here.

Will Sam Kerr be playing?

That’s the big question. We’re not likely to know until close to kick-off, however the Aussie captain has taken some part in training during the lead-up as she continues to recover from the calf injury that’s kept her out of the tournament so far.

Will they be wearing the green or blue kit?

After donning an all blue strip for the Canada win, the Matildas will be back in the traditional green and gold on Monday night as the designated home team, due to finishing top of their group.
