The Wests Tigers are sounding out two former NRL halfbacks that are currently playing in England, according to Brent Read.
The Tigers have turned their attention to the English Super League in their hunt for a halfback, and are interested in Brodie Croft and Aidan Sezer, Ready revealed on Triple M NRL’s The Saturday Scrum.
“The Tigers have tried every man and his dog in terms of halves,” he said.
“They’ve obviously now turned to England, because Aidan Sezer and Brodie Croft are the two names that are getting thrown around.
“Aidan Sezer is a guy that, as I understand it, Benji Marshall is quite interested in bringing back.”
LISTEN TO THE FULL READY’S MAIL SEGMENT:
While the Tigers are certainly in the market for some fresh talent, Ready said they may face some resistance in the form of player agents, who are ‘reluctant’ in dealing with the Tigers due to their poor on-field performances.
Michael Chammas, who also joined The Saturday Scrum, revealed that the Tigers are facing pressure to create a more hospitable and attractive playing environment through the employment of some additional coaching experience.
“There is pressure on the Wests Tigers from those player agents to try and put people around Benji Marshall who have actually coached in the NRL in the last 10 years,” Chammas said.
“There is definitely pressure on the Wests Tigers to bring someone like a Justin Holbrook or like a John Morris… to come in and help as well.”
