MG REACTS TO MADGE’S GLASS HOUSES COMMENTS:
The fuse for Origin II was well and truly lit on Monday when Blues coach Michael Maguire hitting back at suggestions NSW deliberately went out to target Reece Walsh.
Walsh was knocked out of Origin I after being hit high by Origin debutant Joseph Sua’ali’i, who was sent off and suspended for four games for the incident.
“You’ve got to make sure that you don’t live in glass houses, that’s all I’ll say,” Maguire said on Monday.
“Things happen on the field. Joey is a special human being, and for him to have to deal with that (wasn’t on). It’s glass houses. Interesting.”
When pressed about the comments while on NRL 360, Slater had an awkward response.
“Nah, I purposely didn’t comment on that incident if you listen to the press conference,” Slater said.
“No, I think you might need to check my comments.”
