South Sydney Rabbitohs are already in crisis mode as we approach Round 6 of the 2024 NRL season.
Head coach Jason Demetriou is on the chopping block, star player Latrell Mitchell continues to get himself into the headlines for the wrong reasons and other representative players struggle heavily with their form.
Aaron Woods & Wade Graham both question who’s really at fault in this messy situation on Footy Talk League Players Only.
LISTEN HERE:
“Jason Demetriou, he’s put all his faith into these boys,” said Woodsy.
“They haven’t shown what he’s putting into them, back to him.
“And it’s going to cost him his job.”
Though, Wade Graham saw both sides of the coin, he still questioned Demetriou’s selections as he attempted to stamp his own footprint onto the team.
“He made the decisions to get them there, right?” said Graham
“You can go back to the Adam Reynolds stuff.
“He had the courage to make a decision on that because he believed in his vision.
“JD made a tough a decision again and so they move Sam [Burgess] on.
“It hasn’t panned out his way.
“It’s what Sam was saying has come to fruition and unfortunately, JD backed his players.”
Woodsy did add onto it, questioning how losing Adam Reynolds and passing the playmaking reigns off to rookie at the time Lachlan Ilias was handled poorly.
“Some of the things he said as well,” started Woods.
“Ilias is going to be the greatest halfback South Sydney have had.
“Where’s he playing now?”
“He could’ve been,” added Graham.
“If he did an apprenticeship under Adam Reynolds for two years.”
