Wade Graham & Ryan Girdler Debate Taylan May Head Clash With Reece Walsh

The Brisbane Broncos limped out of their 38-12 loss to the Penrith Panthers in a 2023 Grand Final rematch.

Already without stars Adam Reynolds and Payne Haas, superstar fullback Reece Walsh was left with a facial fracture after a collision with Taylan May.

The Penrith Panthers centre was not cited by the Match Review Committee which has left the NRL world divided, just like both Wade Graham and Ryan Girdler.

“There needs to be a duty of care from those outside backs, especially when they fly in like missiles,” said Girdler.

“You can still get a good shot and make it uncomfortable for them.

“I know it was an accident but I think the [MRC] should still have a look at it to let guys know, if you’re going to go and commit like that, you need to get your technique right.”

But Wade Graham disagreed, biting back at Girds.

“It’s still a collision sport, accidents are bound to happen.

“So if I come out of the line fast, someone takes a step and does his ACL, is that my fault for coming out of the line fast?”
