The suspense surrounding Payne Haas’ future at the Broncos has intensified, with the star prop reportedly rejecting Brisbane’s offer of a contract extension worth $1.1 million per season.
On Triple M NRL‘s The Saturday Scrum, Tony Squires, David Riccio, Aaron Woods and Ben Te’o unpacked what could be next for Haas, with a potential code switch to rugby union among the options.
“Rugby union have had a lot of targets and they’ve missed out on a few of them,” Te’o said.
“I think if they are going to front-load a deal and chase a big name, Payne Haas is definitely one that’s on their radar.
“I could see him taking a lot of carries on the edges and being a very valuable member of the Wallabies.”
