“It’s Not Good To Watch! It’s A Touch Footy Mentality” Mitchell Pearce Annoyed By Harry Grant Sin-Binning!

The referees found themselves in the headlines again for all the wrong reasons during round 10 of the NRL season which left both Mitchell Pearce and Todd Carney annoyed on Footy Talk Half-Time.

With rule changes leaving fans, players and coaches bemused, an incident in Melbourne Storm’s loss to Cronulla Sharks left everyone confused.

Harry Grant was penalised for contact on Sharks player Daniel Atkinson after he kicked the ball, though it all seemed quite accidental, nothing aggressive.

But with strict rules protecting players’ health and safety, the rugby league community were left seething when what could’ve just been a penalty was compounded with Harry Grant being sent to the sin-bin, turning a tight game on its head.

“Some of the penalties being given away are frustrating,” said Pearce.

“It’s not good to watch.

“It’s a touch footy mentality sometimes and you still want to see some sort of fear from the halves.”
