Mark Geyer gave his take on Nelson Asofa-Solomona’s continued axing at the Melbourne Storm, as one of the game’s best big men again misses another week of footy.
LISTEN HERE:
“I didn’t see this coming.
“I think he’s one of the most valuable and one of those players that every team needs.
“He’s the enforcer of their club.”
Though St George Illawarra may be a club waiting in the wings for Big Nelson.
The Dragons aim to continue their rebuild under new head coach Shane Flanagan.
Yet, MG, whilst surprised, is pleased with the way Storm coach Craig Bellamy is handling the situation, placing the fault solely on Asofa-Solomona.
“If you’re not setting the tone of the field, your fellow players start to get jacked of that.
“They’ll go, well now you’ve come back nearly 10kg overweight from pre-season, like we are hearing.
“Then he’s not setting the standards at the Storm.”
