NSW Blues coach Michael Maguire has opened up on having to make ‘that’ phone call to James Tedesco after Dylan Edwards was ruled out of the Origin opener.
“He walked back in and said I’m here to do whatever you need Madge”.
LISTEN BELOW:
Edwards went down with injury on Saturday, feeling tightness in his quad during the Blues last ‘full contact’ training session ahead of Origin 1.
James Tedesco was immediately placed on standby awaiting the results of the scans.
And on Sunday morning, those scans confirmed Edwards would miss the Origin opener with the former skipper rushed into camp on Sunday afternoon.
After being axed from the original 20-man squad, Tedesco will now lineup for his 23 consecutive Origin match for the Blues.
