Gorden Tallis abosultley tore the suggestions of the NRL should be banning kick-offs to prevent high impact collisions to protect the players.
LISTEN HERE:
Tallis used his former teammate, the legendary Brisbane Broncos enforcer Shane Webcke as a prime example as to what the game would lose if they were to pursue these types of bans.
“That run he used to do was so courageous, I didn’t want to do it!” said Tallis.
“I would stand on the 20m line and when they’d kick-off, I’d watch him charge and the sweat would be coming off him.
“I’d watch that collision, I’m like, holy s### we’re on today!
“I wasn’t good at it, I couldn’t do it but there was a role there for people like Shane Webcke.
“Our game shouldn’t apologise for being that.”
