Is Daly Cherry-Evans At Fault For “Derailing” Manly?

Is Daly Cherry-Evans at fault for “derailing” Manly Sea Eagles season?

Did DCE’s announcement on Channel 9’s 100% Footy back in late March, the same night the club’s CEO Tony Mestrov surprisingly call into Fox League’s NRL 360 ruin their 2025 campaign?

Has the mystery surrounding his future play a major factor?

Well these are the questions!

Back in March, Cherry-Evans announced that he will be calling his 15-year long career at the Sea Eagles to an end.

But from what was an expected move to the Sydney Roosters, hasn’t still materialised.

DCE himself lost his Queensland Maroons Origin captaincy and spot in the squad after Game 1, whilst Manly’s season has just gotten worse.

We now sit past the halfway mark of the season and the club sit in 11th, six wins as we approach Round 17, and now reports emerge that head coach Anthony Seibold only has two games to save his job.

Brent Read & Ben Dobbin on Triple M’s NRL Daily clashed over the issue!

Whilst Ready doesn’t completely blame Cherry-Evans, he believes the saga has played a big factor.

Dobbo sitting in the opposition chair believes the club is fully to blame for initially drawing out contract regionnations, which ultimately led to Cherry-Evans announcing his future the way he did.

The two pundits did not hold back, as their explosive argument tried to solve this messy situation!
