Dual code legend Wendell Sailor has defended Wayne Bennett’s fiery press conference after the Dolphins coach refused to answer questions about himself ahead of his 900th premiership match.

Bennett on Friday raised eyebrows during a press conference when he refused to put the spotlight on his coaching career before threatening to “leave the conference” if the questions continued.
“We either change the subject or I just move on,” Bennett told reporters. “I’m not talking about my achievements, what I’ve done and haven’t done.”
Bennett, 73, will coach his 900th premiership match on Saturday when the Dolphins take on the Sharks in Magic Round.
With 562 wins, 323 losses and 14 draws to his name as the man in charge, Bennett holds a 62.5 per cent win record along with his seven premierships
