‘Are You Kidding Me?’: Victor Radley, Ryan Girdler Hit Out At NRL’s Stance On Fines

Roosters star Victor Radley and Panthers great Ryan Girdler have both hit out at the NRL’s stance on issuing players with hefty fines for on-field infringements.

LISTEN HERE:

Radley on Thursday night was hit with a $3000 fine, after he was sin-binned for a late shot on Cameron Munster, resulting in a Grade One Dangerous Contact charge.

Reacting to the news, a stunned Girdler argued Radley’s sin-binning, which played a factor in the result, was more than enough of a punishment.

“He did 10 minutes in the bin, is he getting fined $3000 for that little bump?” Girdler said on Triple M’s Saturday Scrum.

Radley in response made it clear he has no issues emptying his pockets but explained why it could prove detrimental to young players in the game.

The pair’s comments come after Eels forward Ryan Matterson stunned the NRL world late last year when he opted to take a three-game suspension over paying a $4000 fine.
